Season Finale America's Next Top Model : British Invasion The Final is
now here, it has been many weeks and months since the America's Next Top
Model : British Invasion started, in the beginning there were a total
of 14 female models and it is now near to it's end, with only 2 females
remaining in the modelling competition, the final finish line is now in
sight, will an American model win ? or will it be a British model that
wins ? USA v UK . Can a British beauty conquer the Americas.
America's Next Top Model : British Invasion is the eighteenth "cycle,"
or season, of America's Next Top Model. The cycle or season 18 of
America's Next Top Model : British Invasion features fourteen models,
placing 7 British models who have competed in previous cycles of
Britain's Next Top Model which is now called Britain & Ireland's
Next Top Model, alongside 7 all-new American model hopefuls in an
overall competition. The international destinations for this cycle were
Toronto, Canada (for one episode) and the Special Administrative regions
of Macau and Hong Kong in China.
The fashion industry public relations Maven - Kelly Cutrone has
replaced Vogue editor Andre Leon Talley in the role of judge (there has
been speculation in the media that Talley was fired by Tyra Banks) - the
rest of the judging panel remains the same. This is the final season to
feature Jay Manuel, J.Alexander otherwise known as Miss J, and Nigel
Barker.

The prizes for this cycle are:
- A modeling contract with LA Models & NY Model Management.
- A guest correspondent placement with the Extra news magazine.
- A fashion spread in Vogue Italia, and both the cover and a spread in Beauty in Vogue.
- The face of the America's Next Top Model perfume product "Dream Come True".
- Production of a music composition that wil be performed by the
winner that will then be released as a record single by CBS Records and
- A US$100,000 contract with CoverGirl cosmetics.
There are now only two model's left in the competition, and these
competitors have worked hard to still be in the running to be in with a
chance of becoming the winner of America's Next Top Model : British
Invasion, the 2 models are Laura LaFrate and Sophie Sumner. It's USA v
GB .

The finalists shoot their CoverGirl Blast Flipstick Commercial and
Photo. Some of the clips were taken throughout their journey in the
competition. Sophie was photographed for the CoverGirl photo-shoot and
done well, but it is the final. Laura excelled in the shoot, although
she later suffered from a panic attack and was taken to the hospital,
unable to finish her commercial. Nigel Barker later dropped by in order
to wrap up her commercial.
The following day, Valentina Serra welcomed the girls for their shoot in
a spread for Vogue Italia; Sophie excelled, while Laura shone and
impressed the clients.
Tyra later visited the models in their apartment in order to interview
both of them. Laura spoke about her life struggles. Meanwhile, Sophie
talked about her insecurities of being a British contestant competing in
an American modelling competition.
In the final runway, for the first time, the girls participated in a
holographic runway show for Forever 21. Eliminated contestants
Catherine, Eboni, Alisha and Annaliese, also joined the models for the
show. Both of the girls impressed the judges.
At panel, Laura was criticized for her CoverGirl photo, but she redeemed
herself with her commercial. Sophie excelled more in her photo than in
her commercial. Laura's rebel personality and Sophie's bright presence
were both praised.
After deliberation, between the America's Next Top Model : British
Invasion judges ; Tyra Banks, Kelly Cutrone, Nigel Barker, Jay Manuel,
it is eventually decided that they are able to give their decision to
the contestants,
Sophie was revealed to be the eighteenth winner of America's Next Top
Model, making her the first non-American winner of the show.
Sophie Sumner, winner of America's Next Top Model : British Invasion, is
photographed along with Tyra Banks. Sophie Sumner the British model is
absolutely delighted to have won the modelling competition.
Ji Dan Xu grew up in JiLin Province where she was raised by her
grandmother and 11 cousins. She has been dancing since the age of 6,
with a special love for the Flamenco form. She’s played piano since the
age of 3 and has competed on a national level. Ji Dan Xu loves
traveling, baking, and women’s fashion. One day she hopes to have her
own fashion brand.
